About
We roast lotus seeds in small batches, source them straight from growers in Punjab and Bihar, and pack every tin with more nutrition and a lot less noise.
Small Batches, Straight From the Source
Makhaana began with a simple frustration: most “healthy” snacks on Indian shelves were either bland, over-processed, or imported at a price nobody in a real household could justify twice a week. Fox nuts — makhana — have been a quiet staple of Indian kitchens for generations, so we set out to give them the attention a modern snack deserves.
Every batch starts with growers along the wetlands of Bihar and the mandis of Punjab, where lotus seeds are harvested by hand and dried the traditional way. From there, our small roasting kitchens take over — no giant factory lines, just controlled batches, watched closely, seasoned simply, and packed while the crunch is still at its peak.
Our mission is uncomplicated: make snacking something you do not have to feel guilty about. High in plant protein, naturally gluten-free, and never fried in the stuff that makes “healthy” a marketing word instead of a fact.
